It's all put together! Now I just have to flat-fell the seams. Ugh.

Flower Pot Skirt
I made this little tiered skirt for Sewing Seeds. I got the fabric at Hancock's and the pattern is Butterick 4722.
It was such fun to make and knowing it was going to someone who really needed it made it even better!

Photo Tag
Evening! We are just in from the blueberry patch (no pictures, sorry) and I have only lately discovered that I was tagged by Ashley. So, here goes.
The rules: go into your 6th folder and select the 6th photo.
I can't see my pictures until they come up on the post so it will be interesting to see what comes up.
Well, turns out it wasn't very interesting! Sorry about that! Maybe I'll have something better to post tomorrow. See you then!
Oops! I forgot to tag someone else! Let's see, how about...

and
Kaitlyn Michelle
And now to sleep!

I am really behind on posting. Since my 100th (*grin*) I have made five skirts and an apron and we have planned a summer sewing camp. Three girls have signed up so far; I'm really looking forward to it!.
More big news, we might be moving. My mother has fallen in love with a house in a nearby town and from her description (I haven't seen it yet) it is love-er-ly. So, there is lots of scrubbing and cleaning and painting going on around here in preparation for house-selling.
Lastly, an update on Kara (see this post). Her surgery is scheduled for the first of the July and it will be open brain surgery. Please pray for peace of mind for both her and her family and skill and guidance for the doctors.
That's all for now! Have a blessed Lord's Day tomorrow!

Chemise Update #2
I thought maybe it was time for an update. I haven't worked on the chemise since my last post but I'll hopefully be able to pull it out this afternoon. I did order the fabric for my corset, though. Yesterday. Three yards of canvas linen and one of jacquard. Can't wait 'till it comes!

State Pride
Good morning! Here are the pictures of the top I made.
I got this book from the library and fell completely in love with it! I want to make the skirt, the one on the front, sometime.
I asked mom to buy me a navy t-shirt from Hobby Lobby size extra large. When I showed her the finished shirt (I basically took the original shirt apart, cut it smaller, fitted it to myself and sewed it together again) she said, "is that the shirt I bought you?!"
The sleeve.
For the back I used the reverse applique technique described in the book. Cole kindly donated the yellow and white t-shirts I used for the appliques.

Home
We are back home again! I had meant to post yesterday but I had to hunt down some camera batteries. I didn't get very many pictures of the actual conference but I did get a few good shots of us doing other things.
Mary Laurence insisted upon hanging up all of her clothes in the wardrobe (including her pajamas) and of course Georgia Beth found this to be a very interesting process.

We are leaving in the morning to go to the Virginia home school conference for a couple of days. When we get back I will post pictures of the shirt I just finished this morning made for the express purpose of wearing at the conference! And I have to tell you I am absolutely loving this book right now, I got it from the library but I think I may have to buy it!
See you later!

Yard Sale Finds and Prayer Requests
Good morning! Sorry I haven't posted much lately, I haven't really had much to post. Anyways, we went yard sale-ing this morning and I was quite happy with my finds!
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the picture. The bag I will probably use but I think I'm going to try and take the yarn off the front first.
Also, we have two young friends who are in need of prayer. One is a little boy in our church who has been diagnosed with leukemia. Please pray for healing for him and for peace and strength for his family. The other is a dear friend of ours, Kara, who's Doctor discovered that she has a brain aneurysm. She will be having surgery to remove it and should be just fine. Her mother told us that she is very peaceful about it. Please pray that her surgery will go well.
Thanks so much! See you soon!

Chemise Update #1
I started sewing my Regency chemise today! Here is a picture of a real chemise from the early nineteenth century. It is from MFA Boston's online collection. At first I thought the little smudge at the top left was a tear in the fabric but when I zoomed in I found that it was the original wearer's initials embroidered in blue reverse chain stitching. I might have to do that on mine! Here is the link to the picture.
