This and That

Well, let's see, what's been going on? We started school last week. Since I graduated last year and no longer have to do school I have been helping Mama with teaching the others. I entertain the two little ones while she does phonics and reading with Emma and Mary Laurence then I do math with them. I have also been helping Cole with Algebra. One day last week it wasn't as hot out as usual so we did math out on the patio swing. I am taking a Spanish class this year, we had our first lesson yesterday. I really enjoyed it!

I have started some fall and winter sewing this week. I am currently making a blouse for myself based on one I saw on Anthropologie's website (I really would love to know who actually spends $78 on a shirt?!). I have also been contemplating whose Christmas gift I shall make next. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be able to share any more of those with you until after the holidays. Don't want anyone to find out what they are getting before it's time!

How lovely that school has started! We are doing year round school at the moment and should finish by the end of October to give us a break before beginning the next round of homeschooling. :)

I agree with you - I don't know how anyone can pay so much for a shirt! Sewing can make your garments beautiful and last longer than some store bought shirts.

Can't wait to see what you are making for everyone. Have a beautiful day!

What a blessing that you help watch the little ones while your mother homeschools the other children! Your Spanish class sounds like fun! I take turns homeschooling Lily and Stephen, and they take turns watching Anastasia, in the meantime. We started homeschooling in the beginning of August, so I can take a few weeks off in March. I love the flexibility of homeschooling!Have a blessed day!

I love doing school outside, and we have finally had a break in the intense heat so it is delightful! Your mom is so blessed to have you helping out with the schoolwork. And you make lovely lunches, too!
