Cranberry Thumb Cookies

Cranberry Thumbprints

1 cup flour
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 t salt
1 stick butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 t vanilla
1 egg


1) Preheat the oven to 350. Mix dry ingredients. Combine butter and 1/4 cup sugar.
2) Add the vanilla and egg yolk to butter mixture, combine. Gradually add the dry.
3) Roll dough into balls, roll in egg white and then remaining sugar.
4) Place balls on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and press thumb into the middle of each cookie. Bake 15 minutes.
5) When done, fill the hole with jam or jelly of your choice.
