Christmas Gifts 2009 Part 1

Good morning everyone! I have given a few Christmas gifts and I thought I would post them for you to see! Also, some bad news, I sent two of my mail away gifts yesterday without taking pictures of them! It never even occurred to me to do so. Sincere apologies. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures for you.

We went to Grandpa and Grandma's house Saturday to celebrate Christmas with them.

I made Grandma a new tote bag as she had mentioned that her's was wearing out and a crocheted washcloth to go with it. I think this may be the best tote bag I've made so far, (sometimes they don't turn out)!

Several years ago Grandpa saw my Wee Folk dolls and he asked me if I would make some for him. Every Christmas since then I've given him some members of the Fellowship. This year I made Sam and Strider (who does have a sword I just forgot to pull it out where you could see it).

When I told Lillian I was making Sam she got very excited and was full of helpful suggestions like "Oh, you have to make some little pots and pans. He just wouldn't be right otherwise!"

She also wanted to know if I was going to give him a little leaf brooch. I said no because I hadn't done it on any of the others I had made so far. But, I did add it to the one I was making for her!

Lillian's favorite hobbit is Pippin so I thought he would be a good gift for her.

That's all for now! I hope all of you have had a wonderful Christmas thus far!

Oh my goodness! Wee Folk and Lord of The Rings...two of my favorite things. Seeing your LOTR inspired Wee Folk makes me want to dig out all of my supplies and start my hands to work on a few new creations myself!

How neat!
How did you make those dolls??? I used to make dolls but they never turned out so cute! You seem to have paid a lot of attention to add excellent detail to them! :-)

Love all the gifts you made! We were shopping in Raleigh today and got to see the lovely snow falling down, brief though it was!

Thank you ladies so much!

Lillian, Your welcome! I'm glad you liked him, I knew you would!

Elinor Dashwood, I used the instructions in the book Felt Wee Folk by Salley Mavor (I linked to it in the post). They are fairly simple, you just have to get the hang of it (the first one I made fell apart, ahem!). I got my copy of the book at Jo-Ann's.
