Regency Era Short Stays

I recently completed a new pair of short stays to wear underneath my Regency gowns. The pattern is Sense and Sensibility's Regency Underthings and the materials include: Cotton Twill, Cotton Muslin, Spiral Steel Bones, Silk Buttonhole Twist and Seam Binding. The inner seams are machine sewn and the outer seams are hand sewn.

They turned out great! They look better than mine. How do they fit? My first pair was too big and the one I'm working on (that I gave up on :-P ) is too small!! Grrr... :-P

Thanks! They fit really well, better than my old ones. Here is the rule of thumb my friends and I use (so far we've had good luck!) - go up two sizes from your store bought size and down one letter in the gusset size. Hope that helps and good luck!

Great job. I am working on a Regency gown. I have finished the chemise and the stay. You do such a wonderful job.

Hello Caroline! Where did you buy the boning and the buttonhole twist? Emily
