Prayer Request

Dear Friends,

I am writing this morning to ask for your thoughts and prayers to be with my family this week. My grandmother had surgery on Monday to remove her right kidney on which the doctors had found a cancerous growth. She is still at the hospital in recovery. My mother talked to my grandfather this morning who said my grandmother was not doing very well and is in a lot of pain. Please pray that the Lord would give them both the strength they need to get through this trial.

Thank you,
Caroline

I am taking a little detour from updating to share this with you. I just received an e-mail from Kara's sister who had some great news to share!

The doctors came through this morning, said she looks great and they are sending her home today! She is thrilled to be on the road to recovery- at home. My family and I thank you once again for all of the prayers, encouragement and support through this trial.

Still two more posts to go before I'm done bringing you up to date on my goings on.

Good morning! I just wanted to post an update on Kara. Her surgery was yesterday and all went well. The following is part of the e-mail her sister sent earlier this morning.

She was taken to ICU around 4:30pm today and will be there for 2-3 days. Everything is looking good so far. Tomorrow they will do another scan just to check in the clip around the aneurysm. She has been nauseous and they are trying some medication to help with that along with something for pain. I just wanted to list a few specific prayer requests before the evening is over.

- please pray that Kara would not get the flu (as the swine flu is here in Omaha, but not at this specific hospital)
- no infection
- no more nausea
- her blood pressure is a little bit higher than they would like- please pray that it would come down
- rest for her and my parents who are staying overnight in the ICU
- no leakage around the clip
- a clear CT scan tomorrow

I will see you a little later!
