Movie Quote Trivia

I saw this on Ashley's blog and we had so much fun with I just had to do one too!

1. Pick 20 of your favorite movies.

2. Go to IMDB.com and find a quote from each movie.

3. Post them for everyone to guess.

4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly (I decided to turn them red so you can still read them easily), and put who guessed it and the movie.

5. NO cheating.

The movies are in random order because I believe there are some among you who know the correct order of my favorite films. Also, I'm putting the answers (as they come in) lower down on the page instead of right next to the quotes so that you can still answer them even if they are red (yes, you may answer as many as you want, after all, that's the fun of it!). Oh, and I tried to make it hard because I know that most of these films are very well loved! Have fun!

1. Tell me that wasn't fun!

2. If you cannot think of anything appropriate to say you will please restrict your remarks to the weather.

3. I felt the rush of a thousand heartbreaks.

4. Oh, my goodness. Everybody behave naturally.

5. It is so uncomfortable not having a carriage of one's own.

6. She wrote in such distress. There were exclamation marks.

7. You're coming home with me.

8. It ought to come like leaves to a tree, or it better not come at all.

9. Whatever you write, could you please include a pump and two washing tubs, I've just bought them at a sale.

10. Shake me up, Judy!

11.  Look at that demure little head. And all of us wondering what's inside it.

12. Oh, no. Oh, no. That's... that's not the way to do it. Upon my soul, you mustn't just barge in here saying you want to know, you know.

13. It's Latin. Loosely translated, it means... we cheat.

14. It is not what we say or feel that makes us what we are it is what we do... or fail to do.

15. There's an eye-opener, and no mistake.

16. Don't try to be a hero! You don't have to be a hero, not for me!

17. That man is so full of himself it's a wonder he can stay on that horse.

18. What you both need is a jolly good murder!

19. She saves me from an inferno and she's glad she happened to be awake.

20. Try not to kill my dogs.

Catching Up

As I mentioned in my last post I was gone for most of this week. It appears that whilst I was away I was tagged twice. Rebecca Ann of Singing in His Name and Elinor Dashwood of Hooks and Needles both handed me the followed tag:

The Rules:
1. Do a quick post about the person that tagged you saying thanks. {Thank you!}
2. Answer the ten questions.
3. Follow three new blogs and list them.
4. Tag six people.
5. Challenge one person to do something fun or crazy.

1- Have you ever been to a rodeo?
No. I saw one on TV once though.
2- Have you ever tried to ride a cow?
Umm, no.
3- Have you ever milked a cow or goat?
Yes, I milked a cow at the State Fair.
4- Have you ever been to a Demolition Derby?
What's that?
5- What is your favorite Country song?
I'm afraid I don't listen to country music, sorry.
6- Do you like to hunt?
I don't know, I've never tried.
7- Have you ever cooked your breakfast over an open fire in your backyard?
Not breakfast. Hot dogs and marshmallows.
8- Have you ever thought that the muck was shallow and when you stepped in it, you sank knee deep?
No. I try to stay out of muck in general.
9- What is the hardest thing you have ever done?
Can I come back to this one after I've thought a while?
10- (The question is optional) What's one of your most embarrassing moments?
I shall decline to answer this question.

Because I don't have time to do any tagging right now, if you like cowboys you're tagged!

And...

Another Tag

I found this one on Ribbons of Light and thought it looked like great fun! Enjoy!

List twelve fictional characters that you love from any fandom, and then answer the following questions.

1. Samwise Gamgee (The Lord of the Rings)

2. Jane Bennet (Pride and Prejudice)

3. Mr. Knightly (Emma)

4. Lucy Pevensie (The Chronicles of Narnia)

5. Kate Nickelby (Nicholas Nickelby)

6. Jane Eyre (Jane Eyre)

7. Elinor Dashood (Sense and Sensibility)

8. Arwen (The Lord of the Rings)

9. Mr. Carter (Cranford)

10. Mr. Thornton (North and South)

11. Captain Jack Aubrey (Master and Commander)

12. Hazel (Watership Down)

1. Who would make a better college professor, 6 (Jane Eyre) or 11 (Cap. Aubrey)?

- Hmm… I think I’m going to say Jane. I think the Cap. could be one too but I don’t think he would enjoy it.

2. 12 (Hazel) sends 8 (Arwen) out on a mission. What is it? Does it succeed?

- Oh, dear. Umm… well, maybe he needs to communicate with the farm. I’m sure Arwen could speak rabbit and I would say that whatever the mission was it succeeded.

3. What is or would be 9's (Mr. Carter) favorite book?

- Probably something by Dickens, but don’t tell Miss Deborah that!

4. For some reason, 5 (Kate) is looking for a roommate. Should (s)he share a studio apartment with 9 (Mr. Carter) or 10 (Mr. Thornton)?

- I don’t think she would like either of them!

5. 2 (Jane Bennet) , 7 (Elinor), and 12 (Hazel) have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?

- Oh, they would get along well! I think they would go Chick-fil-la and they discuss what it’s like to be in charge and how it feels to finally get exactly what you want in life.

6. 3 (Mr. Knightley) challenges 10 (Mr. Thronton) to a duel. What happens?

- Hmm… that wouldn’t be pretty! They both are calm most of the time but they also both have a temper! I think they would resolve things in the end though.

7. If 1 (Sam) stole 8's (Arwen) most precious possession, how would she/he get it back?

- I wonder how a hobbit would go about stealing an expert ranger? Hmm… I’ll have to think about that one.

8. Suggest a title for a story in which 7 (Elinor) and 12 (Hazel) both attain what they most desire.

- “Peace, Plenty and the Joys of Raising Chickens”

9. What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 (Lucy) and 1 (Sam) to work together?

- They would do pretty well working together. Lucy would like the hobbits!

10. If 7 (Elinor) visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?

- Perfectly!

11. If you could command 3 (Mr. Knightley) to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?

- I really don’t know. A few archery lessons might be fun : ).

12. Does anyone on your friends list write or draw 11 (Cap. Aubrey)?

- I highly doubt it.

13. If 2 (Jane Bennet) had to choose sides between 4 (Lucy) and 5 (Kate), which would it be? - Oh, that’s a hard one! I’m going to say… Kate. She doesn’t have much help and Lucy does.

14. What might 10 (Mr. Thornton) shout while charging into battle?

- Ahhhh… how about “This is for my mother!”

15. If you chose a song to represent 8 (Arwen) , which song would you choose?

- Well “Arwen’s Song” of course! (It’s “The Houses of Healing” on the play list)

16. 1 (Sam), 6 (Sam), and 12 (Hazel) are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it?

- Sam of course!

17. What would 5 (Kate) most likely be arrested for?

- Aiding and abetting a kidnapper.

18. What is 6's (Jane Eyre) secret?

- Well that’s easy! She’s in love with Mr. Rochester.

19. If 11 (Cap. Aubrey) and 9 (Mr. Carter) were racing to a destination, who would get there first?

- Probably the Captain.

20. If you had to walk home through a bad neighborhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 (Elinor) or 8 (Arwen)?

- Arwen, provided she brought her sword.

21. 1 (Sam) and 9 (Mr. Carter) reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4's (Lucy) sinister secret organization. 11 (Cap. Aubrey) volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that s/he is actually a spy for 4 (Lucy). Meanwhile, 4 (Lucy) has kidnapped 12 (Hazel) in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5 (Kate), they seek out 3 (Mr. Knightley), who gives them what they need to complete their quest. What title would you give this story?

- Strange! Not sure what kind of sinister plan Lucy would come up with!

That was easy!

Elinor and Marianne Dashwood

Thanks again Mylena! I will (hopefully) see you all tomorrow!

Honest Scrap

Good Morning to All!

Apologies for my non-existence this past week. I spent most of it at my grandparent's house then finished it out with a sleep-over with Kate. We had a great time shopping, watching Little Dorrit and talking until two in the morning!

Now to the purpose of this post. It appears that during my absence I was tagged by both Rebekah and Olivia by whom I have been given the Honest Scrap Award. Thank you ladies!

The Rules:
1. Say thanks and link to the person who gave you the award.
2. Share ten "honest" things about yourself.
3. Award this to seven people who's blog design/content you admire or who have encouraged you, and inform them of their win and of the rules of this award.

OK, here we go!

1. I really dislike these "list random things about yourself" tags. It's so difficult to think of things!

2. I think I just did this which makes it even harder!

3. My blog's anniversary is coming up soon and I am planning something!

4. I actually have four blogs, two public and two private.

5. I use one of the private ones for experimenting with different things (new layouts and such).

6. At this moment I am staring at the ceiling trying to think of something write.

7. My most favorite movie ever is Nicholas Nickleby.

8. I dislike watching musicals with the exception of The Sound of Music and parts of The King and I.

9. I read Dickens for fun which apparently makes me part of an endangered species (see this post).

10. I own at least fifteen pairs of shoes.

Photo Tag

Evening! We are just in from the blueberry patch (no pictures, sorry) and I have only lately discovered that I was tagged by Ashley. So, here goes.

The rules: go into your 6th folder and select the 6th photo.

I can't see my pictures until they come up on the post so it will be interesting to see what comes up.

Well, turns out it wasn't very interesting! Sorry about that! Maybe I'll have something better to post tomorrow. See you then!

Oops! I forgot to tag someone else! Let's see, how about...

Emma

and

Kaitlyn Michelle

And now to sleep!

4. I've always wanted long, beautiful "princess" hair but I doubt I'll ever get it.
