Secondhand Fashion Week - Day Seven

Spring has Sprung
(Yes, I know my title is trite but it was the only one I could think of!)

Necklace - Etsy

Cardigan - TJ Maxx

Shirt - Target

Skirt - Made by me
This is one of my re-purposed Panel Skirts. The top was cut from a khaki skirt I purchased at a yard sale. The added fabric for this skirt came from a quilt store. Total cost: Approx. $10.00.

Shoes - Yard Sale
(Same as Day Five)

It just so happens that today is the last day of Secondhand Fashion Week. It was a lot of fun to dig through my closet and create outfits specifically from secondhand pieces. A big thank you goes to Amanda Beth for organizing and hosting this event! I had a fabulous time and I look forward to taking part in future Fashion Weeks!

(Note: All of my photos were taken the day before they were posted so the outfit in this post was actually worn on Saturday.)

Shoes - Yard Sale
Condition: Good/Used
Brand: Airwalk

I'm sorry I'm a little late and that you can't actually see my shoes! They're Brown leather flip-flops, very similar to Rainbow's.

Simple Scarf Tutorial

I saw a scarf like this in a Land's End catalog and thought "I could do that!". All you need is 1/4 yard of 54-60" wide 100% cotton knit fabric and a pair of scissors. All you have to do is stretch it out some (pull sections of it as far as you can until you've pulled the whole thing) and cut off the two short ends at an angle. That's it, you're done!

See you later!

I'm afraid I don't have any tips or tutorials for you today (don't worry, I have one planned for tomorrow) but...

Look who came out of hiding:

I would like to introduce Bella. She is a two-year-old Bengal who was in need of a new home. We brought her to ours on Monday. She is still a little unsure of us. Coming out of a home with one person and into a home with eight was a big transition for her! She seems sweet, a little frightened and very, very small, especially in comparison to our last cat who was over twenty pounds!

See you tomorrow!

Yard Sale

I'm afraid I don't have a tutorial for you today but I do have this...

Don't throw away those pretty cardboard clothing tags (not that you shop in regular stores *wink*) because they make great little bookmarks!

I also have this...

These little boots were Cole's and then they were Emma's...

and then they were Mary Laurence's and then Olivia's...

and now they're Georgia Beth's.

(Oh, and her dress came from a yard sale.)

Perhaps tomorrow (or the next day, it depends) I will be able to share a picture of our new arrival. Right now she spends most of her time in hiding and when she does come out she will not condescend to show us more than a quick flash of her tail. But she'll get used to us, by and by.

Yard Sale Finds and Prayer Requests

Good morning! Sorry I haven't posted much lately, I haven't really had much to post. Anyways, we went yard sale-ing this morning and I was quite happy with my finds!

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the picture. The bag I will probably use but I think I'm going to try and take the yarn off the front first.

Also, we have two young friends who are in need of prayer. One is a little boy in our church who has been diagnosed with leukemia. Please pray for healing for him and for peace and strength for his family. The other is a dear friend of ours, Kara, who's Doctor discovered that she has a brain aneurysm. She will be having surgery to remove it and should be just fine. Her mother told us that she is very peaceful about it. Please pray that her surgery will go well.

Thanks so much! See you soon!
